This is a two-month translation workshop where participants will just TRANSLATE and receive feedback from the instructor. It is designed for advanced translation students or working translators who want to practice their skills. Source texts will be complex essay-type or journalistic pieces coming from publications like The Economist, The New Yorker, and non-fiction books. They will deal with a wide range of topics: from the environment and economics to health and the social sciences.
STARTING DATE: August 13, 2018
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- Participants receive an approximately 1,000-word piece to translate into Spanish.
- In two weeks' time, they submit their translation to the instructor.
- The instructor sends her feedback.
- The cycle repeats itself over the course of two months, during which participants will have completed four 1,000-word translations.
